THE GOLDEN RATIO

This summer our interns created a new exhibit for the museum. The Students, under the guidance of intern coordinator Jessica Heaney, researched and built the exhibit over the six weeks of the program. The math exhibit is based on the work of mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci, the greatest mathematician of the middle ages. The sequence of numbers after the first 2 is the sum of the previous 2. 2,3,5,8...(1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5...). The interns connected the numbers to nature and created some activities for visitors to enjoy.
