Mission Statement

The mission of the Long Island Science Center is to promote the knowledge and the love of math, science and technology. The Science Center 's exhibits and programs educate through an interactive and exciting learning environment.

The expansion of the LI Science Center includes developing a world-class hands-on, interactive educational center with an emphasis on science, mathematics and technology. This development will be funded through a combination of public and private contributions. The ongoing operation of the Science Center relies on strong partnerships with regional businesses, utilizing their assistance in building exhibits, a hands on program that illustrate the rich history of technological achievement on Long Island, in a way that is not only informative, but entertaining and exciting.

Visitors to the Long Island Science Center will be guided through this Long Island showcase by a professional staff and trained volunteers. Interactive exhibits and demonstrations, and both in-house and outreach programs, will enhance the discovery process for visitors regardless of age or background.

The LI Science Center is providing Long Island companies with the opportunity to showcase innovations in science and technology and to be publicly recognnized for their contributions.
